I didn't actually get to go to school in a real building until I was nine years old, and then I was in classes only with disabled children in a school that had mainly nondisabled children. 九岁之前我都没有去过 一个真正意义上的学校, 之后我也被分在 只有残疾孩子的班里, 尽管这个学校的大部分学生 都是健全的孩子。

Honestly, I didn't know what the word "sequelae" meant, so I went to the dictionary, and it meant "because of." 老实说,我都不知道 “后遗”是什么意思, 所以我去查了字典 字典上的解释是“由于”。
So I'd been denied my license because I couldn't walk. 也就是说,我仅仅因为不能走路 而无法获得教师资格证。
