JackChoi_2012-_谈虚拟解剖台_

You know, cadaver dissection is the traditional way of learning human anatomy .
cadaver:n.[医]尸体;死尸; dissection:n.解剖,切开;解剖体;详细查究; traditional:传统的,惯例的, anatomy:n.解剖;解剖学;剖析;解析;
For students, it's quite an experience, but for a school, it could be very difficult or expensive to maintain .
maintain:v.维持;保持;维修;保养;坚持(意见);
So we learned the majority of anatomic classes taught, they do not have a cadaver dissection lab.
majority:n.大部分:大多数:多数票:成年人: anatomic:adj.组织的;解剖学上的;结构上的;
Maybe those reasons, or depending on where you are, cadavers may not be easily available.
cadavers:n.
So to address this, we developed with a Dr. Brown in Stanford: virtual dissection table.
virtual:adj.[计]虚拟的;实质上的,事实上的(但未在名义上或正式获承认);
So we call this Anatomage Table.
So with this Anatomage Table, students can experience the dissection without a human cadaver.
And the table form is important, and since it's touch-interactive, just like the way they do dissections in the lab, or furthermore just the way a surgeon operates on a patient you can literally interact with your table.
dissections:n.解剖,切开;解剖体;详细查究; furthermore:adv.此外;而且; surgeon:n.外科医生; patient:adj.有耐心的,能容忍的;n.病人;患者; literally:adv.按字面:字面上:确实地: interact:v.互相影响;互相作用;n.幕间剧;幕间休息;
Our digital body is one-to-one life size, so this is exactly the way students will see the real anatomy.
digital:adj.数字的;手指的;n.数字;键; one-to-one:adj.一对一的;一一对应的;
I'm going to do some demonstrations .
demonstrations:n.示范,展示(demonstration复数);
As you can see , 你们可以看到
As you can see:正如你所看到的;你是知道的;
I use my finger to interact with my digital body.
I'm going to do some cuts.
I can cut any way I want to, so I cut right here.
Then it's going to show inside.
And I can change my cut to see different parts.
Maybe I can cut there, see the brain, and I can change my cut.
You can see some internal organs .
internal:n.内脏;本质;adj.内部的;里面的;体内的;(机构)内部的; organs:n.[生物]器官;机构;风琴(organ的复数);
So we call this the slicer mode.
slicer:n.切片机;截剪器;限制器;
OK, I'm going to do another cut.
Right there.
This shows a lot of internal structures .
structures:n.结构; v.建造(structure的第三人称单数形式);
So if I want to see the back side,
I can flip and see from behind.
flip:n.浏览;空翻;轻抛;捻掷;v.迅速翻动;按(开关);按(按钮);开(或关)(机器等);
Like this.
So if these images are uncomfortable to you or disturbing to you, that means we did the right job.
images:n.
So our doctors said these are eye candies.
So instead of just butchering the body,
butchering:v.
I'd like to do more clinically meaningful dissections.
clinically:adv.临床地;门诊部地;不偏不倚;通过临床诊断; meaningful:adj.严肃的;重要的;重大的;意味深长的;
What I'm going to do is 现在我要做的
I'm going to peel off all the skin, muscles and bones, just to see a few internal organs.
muscles:n.肌肉(muscle的复数);
Right here.
Let's say I'm going to cut the liver right here.
liver:n.肝;(动物供食用的)肝;
OK. 好了
Let's say I'm interested in looking at the heart.
I'm going to do some surgery here.
surgery:n.外科;外科手术;手术室;诊疗室;
I'm going to cut some veins , arteries .
veins:n.[解剖]静脉(vein的复数); v.使有脉络; arteries:n.[解剖]动脉(artery的复数);v.给…提供动脉(artery的单数第三人称);
Oops! ...
You don't want to hear "oops" in real surgery.
But fortunately , our digital man has "undo."
fortunately:adv.幸运地;
(Laughter) (笑声)
OK. 好了
All right then.
Let me zoom in.
I'm going to make a cut right there.
And then you can see the inside of the heart.
You can see the atrium and the ventricles , how blood flows to our arteries and veins.
atrium:n.中庭,天井前厅;[解剖]心房; ventricles:n.[解剖]心室(ventricle的复数);
Just like this, students can isolate anybody and dissect any way you want to.
isolate:v.孤立; n.[微]分离菌;
It doesn't have to be always dissection.
Since it's digital, we can do reverse dissection.
reverse:n.反面; v.颠倒; adj.相反的;
So let me show you, 让我想你们展示
I'm going to start with the skeletal structure, and I can add a few internal organs.
skeletal:adj.骨骼的,像骨骼的;骸骨的;骨瘦如柴的;
Yep. 这样子
Maybe I can add quickly this way.
And I can build muscles gradually , just like that.
gradually:adv.渐渐地;逐步地;
We can see tendons and muscles.
tendons:n.肌腱,[解剖]腱;蹄筋(tendon的复数);
Wish I could build my muscle this fast.
And this is another way to learn anatomy.
Another thing I can show you is, more often than not , doctors get to meet patients in X-ray form.
more often than not:通常;多半; patients:n.
So, 所以
Anatomage Table shows exactly how the anatomy will appear in X-ray.
You can also interact with your X-ray, and also if you want, you can compare with how anatomy would appear in X-ray, too.
compare:v.比较;对比;n.比较;
So when you are done, just bring back the body and then it's ready for another session .
session:n.会议;(法庭的)开庭;(议会等的)开会;学期;讲习会;
It looks like our table also can transform gender , too.
transform:v.使改变;使改观;使转换;n.[数]变换式;[化]反式; gender:n.性别;
It's a female now.
female:adj.女性的;雌性的;柔弱的,柔和的;n.女人;[动]雌性动物;
So this is Anatomage Table. Thank you.
