This caste system had been put in place for many, many reasons. 这一种族制度产生的原因有很多,
But one of them was to maintain the economic order of the South, which required not just a supply of cheap labor but an oversupply of cheap labor to work at the will of the land. 其中一个是要维持南方的经济秩序, 不仅需要廉价的劳动力供应, 而且需要超量的廉价劳动力 来满足土地的需求。
